Flu season is here, vaccines are now available
Dr Parkes joined the practice in 1997 having returned to New Zealand after 5 years in the UK. She and her husband chose Pukekohe as they wanted to enjoy the lifestyle a small semi-rural town offers. Dr Parkes enjoys working part-time and combining time with her family and time at work. She feels part-time work has benefits for her enthusiasm levels both at work and at home.
Special interests include paediatrics, women’s health and family planning. However, she enjoys all aspects of family health care from minor surgery to the care of ongoing illness. She particularly values getting to know people over time as she believes this is the key to effectively helping people with their health.
